DAVID JONES AW/16 #itsinyou

The beginning of the season is always a buzz with excitement. It’s hard to believe it’s already February, let alone AW/16.

Arriving at Sydney’s Sheraton on The Park last Wednesday with an hour to spare i threw my bags into my room and went out street shooting immediately.

Sydney is a stunning city. Especially near Hyde park.

In town for the David Jones AW/16 season launch and an hour gone in a flash, it was time for the media showing. We arrived at the 7th floor ofDavid Jones… a beautiful space, with black curtains hanging floor to ceiling, creating corridors for a mirrored runway to rival all others.

The media showing was flawless.

Once complete, a band of five models, myself and Sarah from David Jones headed to the roof, where we shot some of our favourite Australian labels. AurelioChristopherDionMichael. And Rebecca. All caught in wind swept moment.

A quick dash back to the hotel to download images and transform from my usual behind the scenes self to something more party appropriate.

The main event was upon us. On arrival a bustle of babes awaited the red carpet – while I slipped past quietly, camera in hand, much more comfortable with the photographers then on the side with the babes – a glamorous bunch all sipping champagne and martinis.

An inspired show. Movement and daring, daring from both models and dancers as they navigate the runway seamlessly intertwined and surprisingly never colliding. #itsinyou the hashtag of the moment, calling out for self inspiration.

A special thank you to David Jones. It was the first time i’ve attended one of your parades and had the most wonderful experience. And also to the models featured in this shoot, i appreciate your time so much. xxx
