A TOKYO MOVEMENT.
"Motto"... sashimi, sake, shopping...
"Anata wa chō kawaī miemasu. Watashi wa anata no shashinwotoru shite kudasai
uru koto ga dekimasu?"... or in english "You look super Kawaii. Can I please take your photo?"
... just some of the phrases that will be on repeat over the next week as I head to Tokyo for a summer get away.
The reality of the situation is I couldn't be more excited. Having not been overseas since New York fashion week in 2014, this trip feels well overdue and the destination a dream. You probably couldn't even imagine what I'm thinking ... a street fashion photographer in Tokyo... a trip I've been wanting and planning since Street Smith began in 2012.
Feeling like Tokyo is a place where all my senses are sure to be over indulged, I'm imagining all I will want to do is dress for comfort. With this in mind I've packed all my old summer favourites and a few new ones to keep things interesting. Think Vans Old Skools for pounding the pavement, Reformation dresses day and night, my red Bao Bao Issey Miyake bag, a new Scanlan Theodore belt bag and of course Uniqlo tees and vintage denim.
Staying in Shibuya I'm still on the hunt for cultural escapades... so please comment below if you know of something not to be missed. xxx
