VOGUE: KENNEDY OAKS DAY 2017.
Each year, the third race day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival heralds ladies' day. Oaks day is all about celebrating femininity, fillies and frills. This year, while the frills were definitely abundant, there was a definite change in the fashions parading through the gates of Flemington. Demure pastels and conservative lines were out and bold colours and dramatic blacks were IN. Striking colours resplendent on striking ladies. Sultry watermelons and siren reds. Virginal whites were thrown up a notch with bedazzling crystals while hero details were matched with more hero details in incredibly successful combinations curated with perfection. This was one day that celebrated what it really means to be a lady today. Head over to Vogue.com.au for more. xx
